Neurodiagnostic Tests

  • Electroencephalogram (EEG)
    Measures the spontaneous electrical activity of the brain with small sensors that are placed on your scalp.
  • Electromyograms (EMG)
    A procedure to evaluate the electrical activity of muscles and their associated nerves
  • Evoked Potentials (EP)
    Measures your brain’s electrical activity in response to external auditory, visual, or electrical stimuli
  • Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM)
    Electrophysiologic testing used to monitor the functional integrity of the nervous system during surgery and improve patient safety
  • Long term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTME)
    Monitoring method used to capture and assess seizures through specialized EEGs and videos in our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
  • Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV)
    Measures the speed of conduction of an electrical impulse through one of your nerves to assess nerve damage and destruction
  • Movement Analysis Evaluations
    Evaluates motion, gait, and balance in individuals with movement disorders
  • Transcranial Doppler (TCD)
    Measures the rate of blood flow in your brain
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
    A noninvasive investigational treatment procedure that uses magnetic field pulses to stimulate electrical activity in your brain in regions where seizures originate. It is used for epilepsy that cannot be controlled by medications.
