Ticket includes partner. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class is designed for expecting moms after the 20th week of pregnancy. This class highlights rotating the baby down and out of the pelvis. Turning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part, vaginal birth is not possible. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class Parent Class provides: · 3-4 hours of instruction and practical application · Essential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position. · Balance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced, supple, and flexible condition for birth. · Birth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern. The day of class requirements- · Support person required (significant other, friend, mom etc.) · Wear comfortable clothing. · Bring a large exercise/ yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED, two pillows (bed pillows okay), and a large towel or yoga mat. Our certified Parent Educators are not allowed to train other birth work or bodywork professionals in Spinning Babies®, nor allow non-pregnant professionals to audit their class. This 4-week childbirth preparation meets for 4 consecutive weeks. This class helps prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth and beyond. In addition, this class provides a safe forum to ask questions and help you make informed decisions about key issues surrounding your baby’s birth. This class will include topics such as: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth Labor and Delivery Tour Our certified instructors offer you support and guidance via education in a unique way that will meet your individual needs. We believe that childbirth is a process, not a method, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. Please register using the expecting mother’s name and information. Please note: There is a waiting list for this class. As a courtesy to those waiting, kindly let us know if you’re unable to attend.
