Along with car seat safety and basic child proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant and child CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant and child. The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant and Child CPR and Choking” course is for those who want to learn Infant and child CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend. This class is geared towards infants and toddlers and includes both Infant and Child CPR. Turning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part, vaginal birth is not possible. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class Parent Class provides: ·       3-4 hours of instruction and practical application ·       Essential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position. ·       Balance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced, supple, and flexible condition for birth. ·       Birth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern. The day of class requirements- ·       Support person required (significant other, friend, mom etc.) ·       Wear comfortable clothing. ·       Bring a large exercise/ yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED, two pillows (bed pillows okay), and a large towel or yoga mat.
