      This 4-week childbirth preparation meets for 4 consecutive weeks. This class helps prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth and beyond. In addition, this class provides a safe forum to ask questions and help you make informed decisions about key issues surrounding your baby’s birth. This class will include topics such as: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth Labor and Delivery Tour Our certified instructors offer you support and guidance via education in a unique way that will meet your individual needs. It is important for grandparents to learn the new recommendations for care, based on research from doctors and scientists studying the physical and emotional development of infants and children. Taught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors, participants will learn how to provide the best and safest care for their grandchildren. They will also learn the latest information on how to safely care for infants and children, how to manage the behavior of children of all ages, and essential life-saving skills such as choking rescue, first aid, CPR, and injury management. Additionally, learning tips on creating a good relationship from the start and how to respond to frequent babysitting requests will help grandparents enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren.       Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond Class

      Ticket includes partner. In this class you will learn about breastfeeding your baby using recommendations from health organizations across the globe. We recommend that all first-time parents take this in-depth class to help mothers get off to a better start with breastfeeding. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, breast anatomy, feeding cues, establishing a good latch, nursing positions, ways for partners to support and be involved in breastfeeding, breast pumping and breast milk storage, breastfeeding tips and available breastfeeding supplies and resources. It also touches on how to know if your baby is getting enough milk and when and where to get help if needed. Class instructor is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

      Ticket includes partner. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class is designed for expecting moms after the 20th week of pregnancy. This class highlights rotating the baby down and out of the pelvis. Turning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part, vaginal birth is not possible. The Spinning Babies® Parent Class Parent Class provides: ·       3-4 hours of instruction and practical application ·       Essential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position. ·       Balance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced, supple, and flexible condition for birth. ·       Birth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern. The day of class requirements- ·       Support person required (significant other, friend, mom etc.) ·       Wear comfortable clothing. ·       Bring a large exercise/ yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED, two pillows (bed pillows okay), and a large towel or yoga mat. Our certified Parent Educators are not allowed to train other birth work or bodywork professionals in Spinning Babies®, nor allow non-pregnant professionals to audit their class.       Facilitated by a prostate cancer survivor, this no-cost support group is designed to help men cope with prostate cancer by offering education and support for patients during their cancer journey. Details: Both in-person and virtual groups are available.  Video-enabled attendance is available for all attendees.  Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smartphone, iPad, laptop, or webcam/desktop).  Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to connect virtually.  Groups will be held every first and third Monday of each month, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the Sierra Tower – Conference Room 103 at Renown Regional Hospital.  Please note: You can renew registrations every calendar year. These insightful classes are facilitated by oncology nurse navigators, social workers, and surgical nurses. In this class, you will: • Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you • Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment • Receive education in rehabilitation and lymphedema • Have your questions answered about treatment, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy and clinical trials Note: 18y+ only.
