Under the general direction of the Manager or Director of Rehabilitation Therapies, this position is responsible for supervising the rehabilitation therapy staff, The incumbent also provides direct patient services as a clinician and assists the manager/director in the overall operation of the Rehab Therapy Services Department.

The incumbent oversees the provision of Rehab Therapy Services. The incumbent comprehends a patient's physical, motor or sensory adaptation needs, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served, and meets standards of quality as measured by the Unit or Department age specific competency standards.
This position does provide patient care. Within this general framework the supervisor performs the services described for staff therapist a minimum of 40%- 50% of work time and treats patients. The incumbent provides therapy services to patients of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients and families dependent on the setting. The incumbent also orients, trains, and supervises staff as described above as well as therapists, aides, students, volunteers and supportive staff as needed. The position participates in program development, staff continuing education and scheduling, and acts as a contact person for other rehabilitation team staff. This person evaluates, counsels and recommends hiring and termination of employees. He/She may be required to perform other duties and to work overtime.
Approval from the Department Manager/Director is needed for changes in department policies and procedures, Renown Health provided travel and continuing education programs, supply purchases, purchasing of equipment, significant changes in or development of new therapeutic programs, and hiring and firing employees.

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor's degree or post-graduate degree and completion of an Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech and Language Pathologist program. Completion of continuing education of a supervisory nature.

Ability to obtain and maintain Current Nevada State licensure in Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy is required. Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria and current automobile insurance for department 200351.
