This position is challenged to provide pharmaceutical care to each of its customers in patient care, quality initiatives, drug information and drug therapy monitoring.
Under the general direction of the Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager, is responsible for the supervision of pharmacist and non-pharmacist employees in Anticoagulation Services and Vascular Medicine.
This position:
Provides day-to-day management and is highly involved in employee engagement activities.
Will be responsible for creating and maintaining consistent pharmacist and provider workflow processes.
Manages the schedule ensuring adequate staffing, evaluates staff, manages employee relations and participates in hiring new staff.
Is responsible for supervising the staff; and to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all patient charges. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service for patients and physicians.
Functions as a resource to management with respect to quality initiatives participation, providing information to improve and enhance services.
The incumbent:
Is challenged to assist in the training of pharmacists, residents, nurse practitioners, pharmacy interns, and students as well as the supervision of same, adherence to policy and procedure, and coordination of workload.
Works with the Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager to meet financial goals for the department and to develop new service lines and grow the business. They are expected to participate in the annual budget process.
Is expected to attend and/or lead on a regular basis staff meetings, pharmacist meetings, etc.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
This position does provide patient care.
