Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy Services, this position acts as a liaison between Hometown Health and community providers in order to meet the needs of our contracted providers, pharmacies, and facilities in understanding our health plan formularies, precertification requirements, and utilization patterns.  In addition, this position will assist in managing Medicare Part D Stars ratings by closely monitoring the prescribing patterns of our community providers and provider education.   Provides technical pharmacy reporting support to Senior Care Plus Med D Plans.

Nature and Scope:

This position is responsible for the education and outreach to our community based providers, pharmacies and facilities delivering care to Senior Care Plus members in order to enhance formulary prescribing patterns, tiering of medications, and share utilization patterns with providers.  To perform the functions of this position, the pharmacy service representative  must have:

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills;

·         Clinical background and the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting;

·         Communicate effectively with providers, members, and other operational departments of Hometown Health and our PBM;

·         Communicate and collaborate with many types of health care professionals;

·         Able to accept responsibility, and complete work on multiple assignments; and

·         Working knowledge of Government Pharmacy Programs such as Medicare Part D.

 

This position does not provide patient care.  This position assists/supports our community providers in meeting the prescribing needs of our members.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor degree recommended.

Experience:

Minimum of three years working in the pharmacy industry focusing on drug utilization, provider education, and supporting  a dedicated  pharmacy team.  Managed care experience is recommended. 

License(s):

Ability to obtain within 90 days a valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and

ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
