Position Purpose
As a not-for-profit health system, Renown Health Foundation relies on community support. The Foundation raises funds to support the greatest needs of the health system.
Under the leadership of the Director of Community Development for the Foundation, the Development Specialist will be responsible for the Foundation's signature events, stewardship events and other projects. This position is responsible for securing donations and event sponsorships as well as the planning and execution of successful events that engage and steward individual donors, corporate partners, in-kind donors and community fundraisers to meet the fundraising goals for the Foundation. The Development Specialist is a highly collaborative, proactive, resourceful professional who manages the Foundation's special events program and is responsible for generating new revenue through event sponsorships, individual donations and external fundraisers.
This position also represents Renown Health and Renown Health Foundation in the community.
Nature and Scope
This position is highly visible to all internal and external audiences, including donors, Renown Health employees, senior management and physicians. High standards of courtesy, performance and respect for confidentiality are essential. Independent judgment is required for appropriate decision making, problem solving and priority setting.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop, plan and manage all Foundation events and fundraising events, within budget, ensuring goals are met.
- Generate revenue to reach targets.
- Ensure all event logistics are in place, working and managing event volunteers and vendors such as venue, catering, entertainment, etc.
- Utilize event software to maximize fundraising event efforts.
- Prepare and manage event budgets, track event expenses and provide ongoing financial progress and ROI reports for each event.
- Prepare and implement a detailed events plan that includes goal setting with strategies and tactics to increase participation, fundraising, and stewardship.
- Serve as the main contact for all Foundation event-related programs and activities.
- Research and identify new event opportunities to generate revenue.
- Collaborate with the Foundation team on marketing and communications to develop event marketing and promotional materials, videos, digital and social media.
- Research and stay abreast of best practices and event innovations to achieve Foundation fund raising goals.
- Represent the Foundation in the community by participating in appropriate civic organizations, and professional growth activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with an emphasis in business administration, or equivalent experience.
Experience: One to two years’ experience in fund development, knowledge of donor database/software preferred
