Position Purpose:
The Development Specialist helps Renown Health offer a higher standard of healthcare for northern Nevada and northeastern California service area. The Specialist accomplishes this goal by coordinating the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) programs from campaign planning to developing new businesses. In addition, the specialist will lend professional and administrative support to a wide variety of development activities including grant submission, prospect research, and special events such as golf tournaments and salons. This type of resource can help extend healthcare services and programming when patient revenue is healthy and help maintain a current level of service when patient revenue is not as robust.
Nature and Scope
This position is highly visible to the community, Renown Health employees, senior management and physicians. High standards of courtesy, performance and respect are essential. The person must have:
- Ability to plan and execute fundraising initiatives from inception to completion.
- Ability to develop and implement a strategy to cultivate and assist assigned Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' partners to increase fundraising results.
- Ensures assigned partners receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated success in managing and stewarding relationships with individuals responsible for the success of fundraising efforts.
- Cultivates and increase CMNH's relationships with assigned partners through various avenues including face-to-face meetings, hospital tours, store visits, etc. by maintaining a regular schedule of meetings with individuals, corporations, and other local businesses.
- Ensures assigned partners have the necessary tools, communication, and Foundation and CMNH resources necessary to meet or surpass their fundraising goals.
- Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others.
- Broad base of knowledge and skills related to donor cultivation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professional maturity, judgment & decisiveness to inspire confidence among prospects & donors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to write and speak persuasively about the institution.
- Knowledge in social media, web contents, patient stories, patient impact reports, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of computer programs; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database applications, etc.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Able to work evenings and weekends; able to travel.
- Exhibit a high level of energy, exceptional interpersonal skills, and can-do attitude and be able to adapt to changes.
- Develops business plan for re-engaging dormant partners.
- Attend Foundation events as well as third-party events for Foundation representation, networking, etc.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for events.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with emphasis in business administration, or equivalent experience.

One to two years’ experience in fund development, knowledge of donor database/software preferred
