Are you or someone you know living with COPD? Join our friendly and supportive community to share experiences, learn valuable tips, and connect with others who understand what it’s like to live with COPD.  Our support group offers:  A safe space to share stories and experiences Coping strategies and resources for managing COPD Guest speakers and educational sessions A community of understanding and encouragement We meet on the last Wednesday of the month at the Renown Pulmonary Rehab from 3pm to 4pm. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing COPD for years, you don’t have to go through it alone, Together, we can make this journey a little easier to breathe through.

Ticket includes partner. In this class you will learn about breastfeeding your baby using recommendations from health organizations across the globe. We recommend that all first-time parents take this in-depth class to help mothers get off to a better start with breastfeeding. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, breast anatomy, feeding cues, establishing a good latch, nursing positions, ways for partners to support and be involved in breastfeeding, breast pumping and breast milk storage, breastfeeding tips and available breastfeeding supplies and resources. It also touches on how to know if your baby is getting enough milk and when and where to get help if needed. Class instructor is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Breastfeeding Circle Gatherings are a great place for breastfeeding moms to find support, exchange experiences, and discuss any concerns. Popular topics include: Milk supply Pumping Returning to work Sleeping, or lack of sleep Weight checks Weighted feedings And more! If you need direct support, please call Breastfeeding Medicine to schedule a 1:1, in person appointment at 775-982-6365. This gathering is FREE to join.

This group is for all patients facing cancer. The meeting enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns. All cancer patients, family members, survivors, and caregivers are welcome to attend. Meets weekly on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in person and virtually. Please join us for Renown Health’s free one-hour class for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) education! Our goal is to give you the knowledge to better manage your COPD by increasing your understanding of the disease process, medications and how to use them and creating an action plan you can use every day. This program is offered every: Second Tuesday of the month from 4pm – 5pm in Renown Health Pulmonary Rehabilitation classroom The last Thursday of the month from 4pm – 5pm in the Renown Rehabilitation Hospital classroom A link to the virtual meeting will be sent 1 day before the class via email.

Ticket includes partner. The American Heart Association Family & Friends course is for those who want to learn infant & child CPR but do NOT need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven “practice-while-watching” technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

Ticket includes partner. This class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur with infants and toddlers. Along with car seat safety and basic child proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant and child CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant and child. The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant and Child CPR and Choking” course is for those who want to learn Infant and child CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend. This class is geared towards infants and toddlers and includes both Infant and Child CPR. This class is ideal for expecting parents, those needing a refresher in labor coping skills, or couples wanting to expand their knowledge of comfort measures for labor and birth. Managing Fear and Anxiety During Cancer Treatment Join our compassionate cancer support group, where you’ll find understanding, strength, and clarity as you navigate your journey. Together, we tackle fears about treatment and prognosis, offering guidance to help you manage overwhelming emotions. Be part of a supportive community that truly understands, and gain tools to help both you and your family through these challenging times. You don’t have to face cancer alone—let’s support each other every step of the way. As one survivor said, “It’s about discovering who you are and what brings you joy.” During the workshop you can expect to learn about the Mind-Body connection (the relationship between your thoughts and physical well-being) and how to use it to: – Uncover your questions and concerns – Improve overall energy, mood and well-being – Learn how to tolerate treatment better – Contribute to a reduction in risk of recurrence Every Monday from 10am-11am Virtual attendance is available. This 4-week childbirth preparation meets for 4 consecutive weeks. This class helps prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth and beyond. In addition, this class provides a safe forum to ask questions and help you make informed decisions about key issues surrounding your baby’s birth. This class will include topics such as: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth Labor and Delivery Tour Our certified instructors offer you support and guidance via education in a unique way that will meet your individual needs.
