This position works directly with the Interface Coordinator, other Renown Interface Engineers, system administrators, business stakeholders, the project management team, and external vendors to integrate data between systems. The primary focus will be HL7 interface and sFTP build/maintenance. This includes but is not limited to designing, building, deploying, and maintaining this code. Provides updates to the Interface Coordinator and IT leadership on project progress and status of outstanding requests.
The incumbent will provide accurate and timely project status reporting to ensure compliance with established timeliness and recording of allocated work hours. All variances from established schedules must be recommended to and approved by the Interface Coordinator or Supervisor of the Technical and Reporting Team or Manager.
Additional responsibilities and flexible working hours may be required to include on-call rotations and off hours when necessary to support system upgrades and go-live events.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of interface engines and protocols. Experience with HL7 and OPENLink is preferred. Applicants with these skills and knowledge in the Healthcare field or with Hospital Information Systems desired.
2. Familiarity with PC software including Microsoft office suite, and other applications.
3. Practical experience implementing bi-directional interfaces from multiple hospital systems, both internal and external, including, but not limited to, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, and other clinical and financial systems.
4. General knowledge of data security techniques. Must be able to follow HIPAA standards for properly securing patients’ Protected Health Information.
5. Demonstrate strong analytical skills and problem-solving techniques. Ability to apply these skills and techniques by providing business solutions in an integrated healthcare delivery system or health insurance organization. Previous working knowledge in healthcare field highly desired.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for user interaction and timely and accurate systems documentation.
7. Demonstrate high level of accuracy on production work and documentation development.
8. Previous experience with health information systems, electronic medical records and/or interfaces desired (EPIC and OPENLink preferred).
