Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Accredited Facility – Echocardiography and Cardiac Electrophysiology

Renown Regional Medical Center is an accredited IAC facility in both Echocardiography and Cardiac Electrophysiology. In addition, Renown South Meadows Medical Center is an IAC accredited facility in Echocardiography. IAC-accredited facilities have undergone a rigorous evaluation, have complied with industry standards, and are committed to continuous quality improvement. IAC accreditation occurs every three years.

Accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC)

Renown Institute for Cancer is accredited by NAPBC, a quality program administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center demonstrates compliance with the NAPBC standards that address the center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement for patients. Breast centers seeking NAPBC accreditation undergo a site visit every three years.

Most Wired Certified Level 7 Special Recognition

Digital Most Wired honors by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives Organizations who have received this special recognition deployed technologies and strategies (e.g., population health/cost-of-care analytics, HIEs/integration engines, and patient portals) to help analyze data to achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes. For example, Renown has employed advanced technologies such as telehealth to expand access to care.


2020

Gold Plus Award for Stroke

Renown Health was awarded the Gold Plus Achievement award in 2020 by the American Stroke Association, which recognizes the hospital team for quality achievement in the Get With The Guidelines quality improvement program. For more information visit the American Stroke Association.

Get with the Guidelines – Heart Failure, Gold Plus

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recognized Renown Regional Medical Center for excellence in implementing Get with the Guidelines program. GWTG – Heart Failure is an in-hospital program for improving care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines. Click here for more information.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

Renown Rehabilitation Hospital is northern Nevada's only CARF-accredited rehabilitation hospital.


2019

U.S. News & World Report

In the U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital 2018-19 rankings, Renown Regional Medical Center was rated High Performing, its highest rating possible, for Colon Cancer Surgery. Renown South Meadows was rated High Performing for Hip Replacement. A hospital's score is based on multiple data categories, including patient outcomes, safety, and volumes. Hospitals earning a high-performing rating were significantly better than the national average.

2018

American Association of Critical Care Nurses - Beacon Award for Excellence

Renown's Roseview, Sierra, and Cardiac Intensive Care Units earned the Beacon Award of Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). This award measures sustained unit performance and patient outcomes that exceed national benchmarks, and Renown had the only Intensive Care units awarded this distinction in Nevada.

Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer

Awarded the 2018 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Renown became part of a select group of 24 U.S. accredited cancer programs for cancer surveys performed from January 1 – December 31, 2018.

Renown's cancer program was evaluated based on 34 program standards categorized within five cancer program activity areas; program management, clinical services, continuum of care services, patient outcomes, and data quality.

Commission on Cancer Accreditation

Renown Institute for Cancer received three-year full accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons with commendation in all seven areas. Only 25 percent of cancer programs attain this distinction, recognizing the quality of comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care. Renown is the only accredited Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer program in northern Nevada to be selected and one of only three programs statewide.

Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital Accreditation

Renown Regional earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation for three years. During the review in December, Joint Commission surveyors evaluated compliance with hospital standards related to emergency management, care environment, infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management. As a result, Renown South Meadows Medical Center received The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® accreditation for Total Knee Replacement, Total Hip Replacement, and Total Shoulder Replacement. In addition, Renown Hospice achieved a deficiency-free Joint Commission Survey with two best practices identified.

Designated Level II Trauma Center

Renown Health-award-level-2-trauma-center awarded by the American College of Surgeons, Renown Regional Medical Center is northern Nevada's only designated level II trauma center.

ABRET Accreditation

The Laboratory Accreditation Board of ABRET accredits the Institute for Neurosciences' EEG Laboratory; accreditation means the EEG Laboratory met strict standards and is recognized as a place where patients and physicians can have confidence they receive quality diagnostics. ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) is the credentialing board for EEG, Evoked Potential, and Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologists.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Renown Children's Hospital is the only Children's Miracle Network Hospital (CMNH) in northern Nevada. Renown has been affiliated with CMNH since 1985. Local CMNH programs and events generate an average of $500,000 annually to benefit children in our region.

American College of Radiology (ACR) – Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. Several Renown Imaging and Breast Centers have achieved this accreditation in all breast imaging modalities.

American College of Radiology (ACR) – Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center

ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. Renown Regional Medical Center, and Renown X-Ray & Imaging locations at 910 Vista and 75 Pringle are designated ACR Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center™ and meets the minimum requirements for acceptable lung cancer screening performance.

American College of Radiology – Image Gently®

Renown Regional Medical Center and X-Ray & Imaging at our Vista and 75 Pringle Way locations are designated Image Gently® supporters indicating a facility accredited in pediatric CT imaging. Such facilities commit to pediatric imaging patients with appropriate radiation doses.
